CARIBOU HUNT
DAY BEFORE AND DAY OF YOUR SCHEDULED HUNT
DAY BEFORE YOUR HUNT:
Once you arrive at Brooks Camp and have a moment to breathe, please text me at 907-687-5690 to confirm that you and your hunting party have arrived, so I know all travel plans went smoothly. I don't need everyone to text, preferably just the hunt coordinator.
The night before your pickup, my team will send a text message to inform you of a time window when you should be downstairs and ready for pickup the next morning. This message will typically be sent between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on the night prior. The message will be sent to the cell phone number of the person I have marked as the hunt coordinator. Once you receive the text, please respond so they know you and your hunting party have received the message. If there is no response, they will try to call, but cell service at the boat launch is often unreliable, so they prefer texting. If there is still no reply, I will call to make sure you know when to be ready.

**If you are unsure who the hunt coordinator is for your group, please contact us. **
DAY THAT YOU GO INTO THE FIELD (Day #1):
Once my team arrives to pick you and your hunting party up, it is up to you and your group to load all of your gear into the truck. Please make sure you have everything before leaving Brooks Camp.
If you rented gear from DHO Rentals, my team will take you to get your gear on the way out of town. Your Drop camp equipment will be prepackaged. The most important things to double-check are ensuring you have the correct number of tents, heaters, and cots. Propane tanks will already be at the boat launch. It is up to you and your hunting party to ensure that you receive everything you rented and have it loaded into the truck.
Please note that unless you are a hunting party of six, we will be picking up multiple hunting parties at one time to take to the boat launch, so make sure your gear is marked.
The drive to the boat launch takes approximately 90 minutes, depending on road conditions, weather, and any ongoing construction. Once you and your hunting party arrive at the boat launch, you will unload the truck, separate what is going into the field and what is not, and sign in with Hook to fill out some paperwork (this is where you need a hunting license, Locking tag, and Harvest tag). Hook will give you a brief and let you know when you are going into the field. You may be loading the boat right away, you may not. Please be patient, if you have to sit for a bit and wait to go into the field, pull out your fishing equipment and fish, or enjoy the views and relax. We know you want to get out there, but sometimes it takes a bit longer to get you into the field than we initially plan, depending on a variety of factors. What I am trying to say is, once you leave Prudhoe, enjoy the adventure.
STORAGE AT THE BOAT LAUNCH:
We have a large storage tent at the boat launch. This is for all of your luggage and hard rifle cases that will not be going into the field. This storage is not a locked storage, but it is within eyesight of my team the entire time you are in the field, so it's safe. Please ensure that everything you leave behind is clearly labeled with your name.
